Southside`s very own garden design expert Sally Tierney www.sallytierney.co.uk left husband Henry in charge of her display whilst guiding  Southside managing editor Alex Lewczuk round a fraction of the exhibitors from award-winning Bettys tea room displays through Rob Hardy`s plantswww.hardys-plants.co.uk  & Chris Castling`s horticultural photography. Discussing the way of the garden designer with ANCH ( Advanced National Certificate in Horticulure ) student from the University of Lincoln Lyn Gould  www.lincoln.ac.uk was just one of the ways Sally added to the experience whilst her former college Askham Bryan www.askham-bryan.ac.uk  simply basked in the delight of another award winning event.PR/Event officer Mary Bond was on top form as usual 

With Helmsley`s walled garden wonderfully represented by Rhona Sutherland & the National Association of Flower Arranging by Pat Daley, it was no surprise that David`s Babyllon spirals- these days also featured on QVC- were so popular. Kew Gardens officially endorsed Hartley Botanic Greenhouse www.hartleybotanic.co.uk with Michael Thornley proved to be highly popular whilst the BCSS - British Cacti & Succulents Society were ably represented by David Johnston. Excellent to speak to Events organiser for the Redcar Half-Marathon Paddy Corcoran www.teesvalleyleisure.co.uk this week. Fresh from his latest riding exploits ace dial-a-vet Stuart Easby will be taking part in the half-marathon on Sunday April 20th with a team from TFM no less, whilst Southside will hopefully be represented by action-stunt coordinator extraordinaire Riky Ash. Its still not too late to register.

Thanks once again to Grand Central Rail, ace reporter Catrina Lakin made the journey this Friday with managing editor Alex Lewczuk to carry out another Capital based location report. Connecting with media legal expert and family law expert Denise Lester ( www.ouryclark.com ) who`s already working on her next correspondent essay not only brought some fascinating insights on the recent McCartney-Mills case but also celebrated the fact that Catrina & Denise are now into their second year with Southside. Relative newbies, but not the less greatly appreciated ace actress, singer and adventuress Charlotte Fortune who travelled in from Bristol for the day( before heading off to be directed by our very own legend Graeme Harper in the new series of Doctor Who in Cardiff  ) and writers & academics Alan Stevens & Fiona Moore who shared a blustery Piazza Cafe meeting which allowed Alan to demonstrate a classic pose from `The Schizoid Man` episode of `The Prisoner` ( only fitting since together with Fiona he wrote the unofficial guide to the series- Heaven only knows what pose he`ll come up with for their Battlestar Galactica text !) Catrina meanwhile replicated the classic Claire Sweeney pose from Covent Garde 2006 ( Get well soon Claire- tonsilitis and location reports don`t go well together )- audio for the above coming in podcast vol 30 !

The formidable team of ace southsider and curator / founder of the Aintree Grand National Museum Jane Clarke AND the only gentleman to both win and start a Grand National , Gerry Scott,  were among the star celebrity visitors and speakers at the first racing exhibition, held at the Ryedale Folk museum in Hutton le-hole ,& organised by Steve Varey and students at Lady Lumley School- who even designed their own silks.

With the Ryedale Folk Museum education team headed up by Rebecca Carver taking a keen interest in proceedings, a super weekend culminated with folk ranging from Lindsay & Gloria Charnock- racing agent and former jockey respectively who represent local riding legend Dave Allan amongst others , Zoe Horne from the Northern Racing College www.northernracingcollege.co.uk , top riders & correspondent from the Racing Post Tom Ryan, AND the ever entertaining Equicise Machine.

Whilst the talk as expected went swimmingly the day was also notable for connecting with top bloodstock agent Linda Sadler www.lindasadler.co.uk  who has recently moved back to the original home of racing from Newmarket & Tai Chi / Chi Kung /oriental health teacher Sandie Day who briefly dropped in and provided some super info on her forthcoming events.
