Whilst Craig Boddy,George Sunley & Ben Sturdy looked after AYL, telephonic correspondents this week included television producer Peter Mitchell & Actor/Writer Shane Rimmer who discussed his work with Meryl Streep amongst others, Derek Hambley ( www.tenthplanet.co.uk ) reported live form the UK Space Centre in Leicester and flagged up the Forthcoming Insurgence and Bad Wolf events, Jane Clarke shared her World Cup views, and Arthur Mckenzie duly plugged his upcoming production` Taakin Heeds` at the Gala Theatre in Durham with David Whittaker & Jack Macbride. Graeme Harper shared his current directorial duties with the new Robin Hood in Budapest, and Paul Sinclair ( www.moviememories.com ) made a welcome return too as did Angela Soakell who immediately went on  location to the Newham Leisure Centre in Coulby Newham where centre manager Abdul Khan( seen here with Councillor Paul Thompson ) and sewaholics secretary Audrey Sharp kindly demonstrated not only the fabulous Sewaholics tapestry, produced and raffled in aid of the JCUH cardiothoracic dept but also duly promoted the 3rd Annual Community centre open-day- ( Plans for number 4 in 2007 already underway ! )

A very hectic but wonderfully productive weekend saw Southside`s Dial-a-vet Stuart Easby at Chatsworth ( in the main arena being ridden over by horse-drawn carriages ) & 3 new Southsiders making their correspondent debuts- legal expert Denise Lester covered the Royal Windsor Horse Show whilst Rosie Hare & Mark Aldridge( normally our backroom audio web-digitiser ! ) seen here with legendary Lincolnshire correspondent Julie Corden made their debuts at the first of the season`s agricultural county events, the Newark and Nottinghamshire show ( www.newarkshowground.com )

Julie Corden, Rosie Hare and Chief Executive of the Newark & NottinghamshireAgricultural Society, the wonderful Adrian Johnston ( already well underway for planning 2007`s event and contemplating becoming a celebrity southside correspondent for the Great Yorkshire & Lincolnshire Shows !

Visiting the William Hill ( www.williamhill.co.uk ) organisation`s head office in Wood Green provided the perfect sequel to the recent coverage of the store opening in Whitby ( with Derek Thompson, Bob Champion & Louise Rigg in case you`ve forgotten- see the William Hill page in on `On Location` section for more ) and Head Of Media & Public relations Rupert Adams, not only gave a fascinating insight into the company but also clearly illustrated the changing face of the gaming industry.

From Wood Green to the Upper Richmond Road, and a fine chat with photographer and co-owner of the Samantha Bond Model Agency Mike Diamond who`s passion for Chess & Fulham Football Club have become Southside legends ( Station get well wishes to Danielle Bux who was unable to join us on our final London report from the world famous Hamleys toy store in Regent Street- despite having been touring radio stations as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz recently ! )

Providing a full guided tour of all floors of Hamleys ( www.hamleys.co.uk ) & the superlative Narnia exhibition  we were delighted to be joined by the Head of Sales Keane Herman ( dragging station manager Alex Lewczuk away from the Doctor Who toys, Scalextric set, Trolls etc etc was really quite challenging in itself !!)

Back in the JCUH studio, Sat saw the continued coverage of the Mitsubishi Badminton Horse trials with Champion Jockeys Richard Dunwoody M.B.E. & Colin Brown ( both from www.racing-pulses.co.uk ) joined telephonically by Southside favourite and curator/founder of the Aintree Grand National  museum Jane Clarke, and making his station debut,Head of Press and PR for the Badminton event Julian Seaman ( www.badminton-horse.co.uk  )

Matters became even more surreal when Julian was joined by the wonderful soul group Serotonin aka Chris Goldhawk, Russell Kedwin & fabulous vocalist Azadeh Khaiigh ( www.serotoninmusic.co.uk ) with a marvellous entourage anchored by Dave T & manager Donovan Dwyer, ably assisted by Naz Arga, Nathan T & photographer Emma Wells-Colyer

Sadly, despite the assistance of the Hamley`s Easter Bunny, both Tallulah Rendall & Claire Sweeney were prevented by telephone gremlins from connecting with Serotonin- however a full thumbs up to the group and the new Welsh Rugby Coach was given by our Oxford/Cardiff correspondent Danielle Bux who`s off to Geneva this week, and the terrific Leah Newman ( www.leahnewman.co.uk )has provisionally agreed to a joint singing session with the band !

Fantastic to welcome back New York Correspondent Peter Franklin ( www.gabby.com ) and looking forward to a slightly longer less crackly link very soon, whilst Doctor Who/Bafta award winning Director Graeme Harper talked about his forthcoming work on the new series of Robin Hood.

Commenting on the recent award by OFCOM to the Stockton on Tees Christian Group Cross-Rhythms, programme manager Alex Lewczuk said `Its somewhat ironic that Southside produced the North East`s first interdenominationally funded RSL with Southside Christian Broadcasting back in 1994, However we wish the Reg Vardy funded group all the best and continue to have fruitful discussions with OFCOM re our own FM plans. Earlier this week, some of the University of Lincoln contingent of Southsiders  ( Senior Lecturers in Media Culture & Communications, Dave Kenyon & Alex Lewczuk, Senior Lecturer in Radio Production and co-patron of SirenFM Bryan Rudd ) were joined by Louise Rigg to produce a video adaptation of the John Huston classic `Key Largo`- this time directed by Media Comms Undergraduate Barry Wilkinson, and ably assisted by Nathan Varey, Gemma Atkinson, Emma Carney-Holliday, Scott Cartwright & Peter Duff. We hope to be able to have the finished product on-line by mid-May- meanwhile here are a few teaser  behind-the-scenes shots

This week entailed a return visit to the fabulous Raja Fashions ( www.raja-fashions.com ) whose fantastic team from Hong Kong measured up both Dr. Jim Kyaw-Tum and station manager Alex Lewczuk whilst in the Hilton Hotel Newcastle-on-Tyne. Jim will be providing a full location report on this wonderful Hong Kong company when he makes a brief return to Kowloon in May. The long-awaited feature on Nunthorpe School ( www.nunthorpe.co.uk  ) took a few steps further forward with Deputy Head Graham Parker sharing some of his thoughts on the excellent non-uniform days they run for the benefit of local charities ( thanks to Craig Boddy for coming up with the idea of a Southside non-uniform day we`ll shortly be able to purchase another mini-disc recorder )

Our Pennsylvanian correspondent Ross Bowring is not only joining us to be this Saturday`s celebrity Raffle drawer but has also added his philosophy of Southside ( under the station philosophy section natch ! ) as well as putting the finishing touches to his public speaking text ( are our contributors multi-talented or what ? ! )

UK Lifestyle producer now working on the C4 Paul O`Grady show Abi Lovell also returns this Saturday reporting `live` from the Ideal Home exhibition whilst top writer and former UK discus champion and detective Chief Inspector Arthur Mckenzie makes a welcome return too just ahead of  the wonderful Baroness Massey of Darwin who will be discussing her recent excellent work as chair of the cross-Parliamentary children`s committee, and deciding whether to opt musically for ABBA or Robbie Williams in her audio break !

Cardiff legend and rugby commentator Danielle Bux  also returns to the Saturday sequence to discuss the recent 6 nations - not only this but she also found time to send us one of her recent modelling shots proving that multitasking is alive and well in the Principality ! ( Good luck with the Loaded shoot Danielle ! )

Keeping the aesthetic audio value high, Leah Newman ( www.leahnewman.com  ) returns to talk about her recent trip to Norway and may ever persuade her good friend & former Tottenham & Liverpool centre half  Neil `Razor` Ruddock to make his Southside debut just in time for the return of Lavender Blue Food`s creator Samantha Ross who will be providing some tasty treats for Mothering Sunday
